Supply and installation of roofing and wall cladding systems for industrial and commercial buildings across Qatar, on frames Masas has fabricated or on a frame supplied by others. Roofing and cladding are named in the ISO-certified scope alongside structural steel and pre-engineered buildings, so the frame and the envelope can come under one subcontract. That removes the interface between two subcontractors at the line where the cladding fixes to the frame — the line where responsibility for an envelope is usually argued.
The record on this site includes the envelope on a 64-metre sports hall and a 60-metre hangar, factory and warehouse cladding, a bottling hall where a wash-down environment governs the cladding and the detailing at every junction, a cold store where a thermal bridge at a purlin line is a defect rather than a detail, roof ventilation for a plastics process that runs hot, and building envelope solutions at a hotel entrance.
The envelope follows the same five stages as the frame. The scope is confirmed in writing before quoting. Shop drawings, method statement, inspection and test plan and risk assessment go to the consultant for approval against QCS 2014. Materials are prepared and inspected against the approved plan. Installation is sequenced around the main contractor's programme. Snagging, as-built documentation and the certificates the consultant needs then close the package.
